Jarel Daniels, CEO

Jarel Daniels is a Management Consultant with his Master’s Degree in Taxation. He has worked in Financial Services and Public Accounting for over 10 years focusing in Real Estate and Professional Services. After serving as the Business Development Director for two staffing firms, he started JD Tax and Accounting Advisors where he helps his clients become profitable by managing their finances and developing a business strategy to increase revenue. 

Born in West Philadelphia, Jarel loves spending time with his family and connecting with new people. He strongly believes your net worth depends on your network

Aleisha Gibbs | JD Tax & Accounting

Aleisha Gibbs, COO

Aleisha is a dynamic and motivated PR and Marketing Strategist with a thorough understanding of social media, content marketing, proposal management and community building strategies. With over ten years of specialized experience in addition to earning a Master’s in Business and Professional Communication from LaSalle University and a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies from West Chester University, Aleisha is an adaptable and transformational leader working to create effective marketing collateral and developing opportunities that’ll establish milestone organizational goals for JD Tax & Accounting.

In her spare time, Aleisha loves spending time with her two children, cruising the aisles of Marshalls and HomeGoods and crafting on her cricut machine!

Dashay Brown Sr | JD Tax & Accounting

Dashay Brown Sr., Tax Director

Dashay Brown Sr. was born and raised in North Philadelphia, PA and graduated seventh in his class from Simon Gratz High School. Mr. Brown knew in high school that he was going to be an accountant, which led him to receiving his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from West Chester University of Pennsylvania while graduating with Cum Laude honors. During his tenure at West Chester University, Mr. Brown along with a friend and classmate named Clarissa Jackson, revitalized an African-American accountant club called the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA), that had been dormant on campus for many years. Mr. Brown served as president of the West Chester University NABA Chapter for 2 consecutive years

Mr. Brown began his accounting career with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) as an intern for two summers before accepting a full-time position as an auditor with PwC. Because his passion was always in taxation, he eventually moved on to a local Certified Public Accountant (CPA) firm in Paoli named DiSerafino Quinn & Co, LLC, where he served as a Tax Accountant. After becoming a licensed CPA in the state of Pennsylvania in 2014, Mr. Brown further advanced his career by accepting a position with Resource America, Inc. as a Tax Analyst, where he focused primarily on corporate and partnership taxation.  In 2014, Mr. Brown decided to open his own accounting firm called Brown CPA, LLC. In May 2015, Mr. Brown obtained a Master’s of Science in Taxation from Philadelphia University, in just one year, with a 3.8 GPA.

Brown CPA, LLC is a proactive and progressive accounting firm located in Philadelphia, PA. The firm provides tax planning, tax compliance, business advisory and accounting services. Brown CPA, LLC is a growing firm and currently serves over 250 clients.

Shamir Garland | JD Tax & Accounting

Shamir Garland, Director of Accounting

The North Philadelphia / Mount Airy native graduated from one of the top high schools in Philadelphia, George Washington Carver for Engineering & Science (ENS). He then earned his B.S. in Accounting from The Pennsylvania State University and earned his Master’s in Business Analytics from West Chester University. Shamir is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the State of Pennsylvania and in the State of Georgia and has over 15 years of experience in the field of accounting. He is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. where he volunteers in assisting at risk youth realize their fullest potential.

Shamir and his wife of 12 years share four beautiful children and two dogs. When not spending time with his family, you will find him on the tennis court where he plays competitively in tournaments and various leagues. Shamir is a Board Member of AMPro Tennis Foundation, a 501c3, where he introduces and trains under represented athletes in the sport of tennis. In 2024, he will embark on the journey to earn his PhD in Accounting with the end goal of becoming a Tenured Professor at a University.

Ramon Odom | JD Tax and Accounting

Ramon Odom, Tax Manager

The Philadelphia native earned his B.S. in accounting from Morgan State University. Ramon started his accountant career with Link Solutions as a Financial Management Specialist at the Executive Office of the President and has held subsequent positions in accounting thereafter. He is currently an Accountant for the Federal Government.

The Philadelphia native earned his B.S. in accounting from Morgan State University, has been an active member of various organizations like the Association of Government Accountants (AGA) & the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA). Professionally, Ramon enjoys identifying problems and solutions, exploring new ideas, and satisfying his client’s needs. Personally, he enjoys cycling and spending time with his wife and two young sons.

Ian Scott | JD Tax & Accounting

Ian Scott, Tax Partner @ A&M Berk

Ian Scott is on a mission to help others attain financial freedom. He is a licensed certified public accountant with over 17 years of experience in the financial services industry, including 10 years with a large, local, top financial firm. He is a graduate of Philadelphia University. In April 2017, he grabbed hold of his own financial independence and shifted from employee to entrepreneur.

He now uses his experience as a CPA and skills as a tax and financial coach to help others develop financial plans that eliminate debt, save money, and work towards their financial goals. Raised in North Philadelphia with 7 siblings, Ian now spends a great portion of his time volunteering in his community and educating others. Ian is a self-improvement junkie who loves to travel and work out.

Antoine Parks | JD Tax & Accounting

Antoine Parks, BD Manager

Antoine Parks is a dedicated real estate developer with over eight years of experience in business sales. Working with over 40,000 businesses and retaining over 87% of revenue, Antoine climbed the sales ranks at Comcast as a former account executive. In just 6 years, Mr. Parks garnered over $6,000,000 in new capital. Using his sharp sales tactics, Antoine left Comcast Business and embarked full time in real estate development where he leads a team of contractors developing commercial, residential, and mixed used properties for low-income families in Chester, PA, Cleveland, OH and Wilmington, DE.

It’s 2021 and Mr. Parks is adding another objective to his resume and stepping into his newest role as Business Development Strategist at JD Tax Accounting & Advisors. Antoine’s main objective is to provide strategy and marketing support to clients in order to achieve significant sales growth. When Antoine isn’t networking with clients or developing his properties, you can find him in a gym, on a football field or traveling to new destinations with family and friends.

Michael James | JD Tax & Accounting

Michael James aka “MJ”

Michael James aka “MJ” is an experienced executive working within the Real Estate and Financial Services industry for over 25 years. MJ is driven to lead and support organizational transformation and operational excellence. His background combines a solid academic foundation with extensive professional experience operating in high-paced conflict environments. This has required responsive action, collaborative problem solving, crisis management, and decisive leadership with little room for error. MJ has also successfully implemented and managed end-to end fulfillment processes within each organization throughout his career.

As the organization’s executive operations and account leader, his responsibilities includes operational leadership over enterprise business solution initiatives focused on improving efficiency, productivity and customer experience through process and technology transformation. In addition, responsible for executive operational oversight for the company’s most profitable origination division, the consumer direct Call Center channel.

His approach to program management and delivery excellence is solution-focused and driven by customer-centric outcomes. It has resulted in the contract expansion of every Client contract he has ever managed. His focus areas include advising, training, delivering solutions, guiding organizational change, contract execution, real estate (residential and commercial), lending and growing the business footprint through robust performance and cross team collaboration. He also has served “at risk youths” for 13 years providing allied therapy that fostered the financial education life skills they would take with them into adulthood along with running his Non-Profit organization named “Regular Fellows Foundation”.

MJ was a nationally ranked youth and Division I track star and from performing at such elevated levels, he was able to transform such traits as ethics, strong leadership and commitment needed to ensure his clients receive the true meaning of excellent service. MJ holds degrees in M.I.S. and Accounting from La Salle University and prior to college he graduated from the William Penn Charter School. His interests include music, travel, sports and reading along with raising his 5 children with his beautiful fiancée.
